Dear Parents,

The November Elementary Sunday School theme is titled Give Thanks.  As the title suggests, we will discuss the basic premise of gratitude.  Students will examine their spiritual lives and actively search to recognize things they can be thankful for.  They will explore the importance of expressing sincere gratitude to God through prayer and by directly thanking people who provide for their daily needs. We have so much in our lives we can be thankful for.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances.”  All Christians have the responsibility to pray and thank our Heavenly Father for His love and what He does for us.  Just as our body hungers for food to eat, our spirit should crave the opportunity to thank God for all He does for us.  Please consider spending time with your child to help develop a life long tradition of actively living this verse.
